Not long ago, on our way to a team meeting, we spotted by chance the perfect new trendy place to check out, right in the middle of the Gärtnerplatzviertel.
You mean vinothek, right?
First of all, let me share a secret: I had not interest whatsoever in beer until we discovered Die Bierothek®. Blame it on my French origins… I’m all about the wine. But ladies, after the success of the vinothek, I am very happy to introduce you to the bierothek concept. A bierothek is a place to taste & enjoy beer while learning about it! What might seem a barbecue-related, Oktoberfest-appropriate, manly tradition becomes, through this reinvention of the concept, an inviting treat. If you are not into beer, believe me, you’re about to change your mind.
This new locale in the middle of the Gärtnerplatzviertel is Christian Klemenz’ ninth Bierothek in Germany. The store manager Richard, will be happy to cater to your level of beer-knowledge, and guide you through Christian’s own brand of beers and through an impressive selection of craft beer from all over the world. You can order more than 300 different types! As soon as you come inside you will be blown away by the sheer number of bottles. The stock is varied, colourful and, dare I say, exciting.
Are you prepared for the challenge?
Well, if you’re like me, you might feel a little apprehensive…. I get it! Beer can feel daunting. That’s why Die Bierothek® organizes Bierseminars or private workshops if enough people are interested. Do I see a special LMBB Bierseminar in our future? I love my cheese & wine pairings but I’m happy to explore new possibilities!
How to get there
Die Bierothek® is at Reichenbachstraße 22 – 80469, a step away from the Isar… You can easily get there with the U1, U2 & U7 or with the tram 17 if you get down at the Fraunhoferstrasse stop. Trams 16 & 18 will leave you at Reichenbackplatz, just a couple of stops away. For reservations or more information, you can send an email to email@example.com
When to go
Die Bierothek® is open from 10:00 until 20:00, Monday thru Saturday. Be aware it is closed on Sundays!
Great to know
- No food is served inside the premises: it is all about the beer!
- Need a gift for someone special? The Bierothek offers gift cards, which you can redeem for beer or beer seminars.
- This is a great place to visit with your girlfriends or treat your partner to a special beer tasting date. However, it is not child-friendly.
